WhatsApp has urged its 1.5 billion users to update the App as quickly as possible after it discovered a vulnerability that allowed a Spyware developed by hackers to be installed on users phone via the App’s audio call feature.
According to reports, once installed, the Spyware allegedly developed by Israeli Cyber Intelligence Company, NSO Group, can turn on the phone’s camera and microphone, listen in on your audio call, invade your mail box and messages, collect information about the user’s location data or completely take over your phone’s operating system.
Hence WhatsApp users are advised to update the app via Playstore on Android devices or via Apple store on iPhones.
