What to know about the new Samsung Galaxy Note series S Pen Stylus

The Samsung galaxy Note 10 S Pen Stylus is what sets the note devices apart. It has been available since the advent of the Note devices. However, with the release of Note 10 and Note 10 plus, the S Pen has been redesigned to offer more advanced experience and boost creativity as well as productivity of the phablets.

So what are the features of the Galaxy S Pen?

The stylus is Bluetooth enabled, hence it works like a remote control or magic wand, enabling you navigate a presentation, play and pause videos, or snap a photo with just a click or wave.

With the S Pen, you can take notes, scribble, draw, doodle, control apps (limited to only Samsung apps), and perform several cool actions.

Samsung just added a feature to the S Pen called Air actions, this feature gives you intuitive control of your device with a wave of your hand. Which means via simple gestures, your note device can perform certain actions. For example;

Air actions allow you to point the S Pen at the Note 10 to act as a camera shutter button to capture close or wide shot or zoom in/out. You can move S Pen clockwise or counterclockwise to change or switch between camera angles.

You can flick left or right in the Gallery app to move to the next photo, or go back to the previous one.

You can also turn up the volume of your phone by gesturing up and lower the volume by gesturing down without needing to touch the volume key.

Another feature is the Text export function which turns your handwriting into text. This means that by simply tapping the screen, your scribbled notes will turn into readable text that you can copy, paste, and share. However this function requires you going through series of processes, therefore it’s not seamless.

There’s also the AR Doodle feature which comes with the new S Pen. For artistic individuals, this means that the S Pen can be used with AR Doodle to edit and draw on photos or create artwork. And when the S Pen is used with the Note 10+’s DepthVision camera, not only can it draw, it can also scan objects and turn them into editable 3D renders.

All these features and more, are easily accessible and can be explored from the S Pen menu. Samsung also lets you customise your stylus to your preferred choice, giving you the best experience with your phablet.
