Ever since the US blacklisted Huawei, we knew it wouldn’t be a smooth ride for the company.
The upcoming Huawei phones – Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro, are to launch in a couple of weeks, but it seems the phones won’t be coming with Google play store and Google apps.
Google confirmed this by saying that it is unable to grant the license of its apps to Huawei due to the US ban.
So this means that users won’t be able to access their favourite apps such as Youtube, Google maps and the likes. However, the new phones will still be able to run Android, an open-source software.
Huawei has been working on its own play store and operating system (Harmony OS) for quite a while, almost as if it envisaged these events. But the truth is, using a phone without google services will be limiting.
